7 Reasons to Print
One of the number one things people ask these days when they contact LPP is if we sell digital files. Of course we do, but that’s not why people book us. All of our wall portraits and collections include matching digital files for reprints later on. Digital files are what is in right now, but they are also very fragile. One scratch, temperature change, dusty drawer, or back up device failure, and your beautiful portraits are gone... forever! What happened to the last CD of photos you had done? Are they still in a drawer collecting dust? I know mine are. The only prints I had were the ones I purchased from the studio. When is the last time you printed something from your cell phone? Technology is always changing. Look at the floppy disk. New laptops and computers are now being built without a CD drive. What will happen in 5 years? 10? or 30?Here’s a little inspiration with a few good reasons to print before the end of this year:
Everything digital can be lost in the blink of an eye.
Storing all of your favorites online or on a USB means you will inevitably forget they exist.
Physical prints are more enjoyable.
Prints hardwire memories into our brain so they are less forgotten.
The people you love are the most valuable artwork you could display in your home.
Family portraits boost a child's self esteem.
Storing devices are constantly being replaced with new technology.
But how can family photography, specifically family portraits, help boost a child’s self-esteem?
David Krauss, a licensed psychologist from Cleveland, Ohio says, “I think it is really important to show a family as a family unit. It is so helpful for children to see themselves as a valued and important part of that family unit. A photographer’s job is to create and make the image look like a safe holding space for kids where they are safe and protected. Kids get it on a really simple level.” Read more HERE.
